"Comrades of the police, come on, the school ran into an animal that looks like a deer, and it seems that it is still injured …" On September 12, 2024, the Chengguan police station of Qingshuihe County Public Security Bureau received emergency help from the primary school in its jurisdiction, saying that an injured animal with abnormal behavior was found on campus, and teachers and students were afraid to go forward and ask the police for help.

After receiving help, the police on duty rushed to the scene. After careful identification, it was determined that the animal was a national "three-owned" protected animal-Zhangzi. At the rescue site, the roe deer whirled around the corner anxiously, and there were still bloodstains on the ground. The police observed that the roe deer’s tail was injured and it was suspected that it had strayed into the campus after being attacked in the wild.

In order to avoid further deterioration of the injury, the police carefully put the roe deer into a protective bag with a steel fork, and took it to the wildlife protection department for inspection and care by professional staff, and then released it to nature after the injury recovered.

The police reminded: If you find an injured or single wild animal, don’t rescue it blindly or release it on your own. You should report it to the public security organ or the wildlife protection department in time so that professionals can rescue it in time.
