"valiant, spirited, across the Yalu river … …”
This familiar lyric is an expedition poem written by Ma Fuyong, the instructor of the 26th Regiment and 5th Company of the 1st Artillery Division of the Volunteer Army, half a month before he entered the DPRK.
In October, 1950, the 1st Artillery Division, where Ma Fuyong was located, was ordered to enter the DPRK for the first time. At the mobilization meeting before the war, the soldiers were full of excitement and high morale, and they wrote down their resolutions, letters of guarantee and invitations. Ma Fuyou was infected by the heroic spirit of the soldiers and wrote this poem for war.
The next day, Ma Fuyong wrote this poem on the blackboard and preached it to the soldiers. At the subsequent swearing-in meeting, he also took the stage to read the oath on behalf of Company 5.
Zhou Weizhi, a famous musician, wrote the poem in the People’s Daily in half an hour. Like a torch illuminating the road ahead, "Chinese people’s Volunteer Army Warsong" has since resounded through the Korean battlefield.
"I didn’t realize that I was creating, but I had a passion not to spit out." Ma Fuyao said in an interview before his death, "This song should belong to our great Chinese people’s Volunteer Army, great party and great nation." "The battle song is the song of the volunteers, the song of the hero, and the strongest voice of that era."
In order to defend the country and defend the country, Chinese people’s Volunteer Army has sent 2.9 million people to fight in the DPRK, and more than 197,000 heroic sons and daughters have sacrificed their lives for the motherland, the people and peace.
A history of resisting US aggression and aiding Korea is a heroic history written by millions of volunteers with their lives.
On August 1, 2017, General Secretary of the Supreme Leader recalled the great historical feats of the People’s Army, saying that the heroic People’s Army "successfully carried out the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea and many border self-defense operations, and played a national and military prestige".
On the theme exhibition commemorating the 70th anniversary of Chinese people’s Volunteer Army’s war to resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea, mottled certificates and battlefield pictures made people seem to see the resolute hero — — Yang Gensi.
In November, 1950, Yang Gensi, the company commander, led the officers and men to beat off the enemy’s attacks for eight times in a row in the battle to hold the hill southeast of the 1071.1 highland on the bank of Changjin Lake. At the critical moment when more than 40 enemies climbed to the top of the mountain, Yang Gensi picked up the explosive charge, plunged into the enemy group, and died with the enemy at the age of 28.
Yang Gensi was posthumously awarded the title of "Superhero" by the headquarters of the Volunteers, and Yang Gensi’s company was named "Yang Gensi Company".
The hero is gone, but the spirit lasts forever.
General Secretary of the Supreme Leader said with deep affection that in Chinese people’s Volunteer Army, more than 300,000 heroic heroes and nearly 6,000 collective heroes have emerged, including Yang Gensi, Huang Jiguang and Qiu Shaoyun. They are worthy of the heroic sons and daughters of the Chinese nation and the glorious title of "the cutest person".
In the "Yang Gensi Company", when new cadres arrive and recruits leave the company, they must first watch the movie "Yang Gensi", read "Super Hero Yang Gensi", visit the honor room of the company and pay tribute to Yang Gensi sculpture; Every night, the officers and men shouted the heroic declaration of "three don’t believe" … … In recent years, the company has participated in major training missions for many times, and has been commended as a "pioneer company for strengthening the army and training" for four consecutive years.
"I don’t believe in tasks that can’t be completed, difficulties that can’t be overcome, and enemies that can’t be overcome!" Yang Gensi’s clank oath still inspires generations of Republic soldiers.
A few days ago, Li Weibo, a veteran of the Volunteer Army, once again took out the old-fashioned military uniform that had been treasured for a long time, carefully hung up the military medal, and prepared to wear it when the remains of the ninth batch of volunteers in Korea returned to China.
In 2014, the first batch of volunteers in Korea returned to China. Li Weibo, who learned the news, was very excited. "More than 60 years have passed, and the comrades have finally returned home."
Since then, Li Weibo has put on his treasured military uniform every year and came to Shenyang Martyrs’ Cemetery to resist US aggression and aid Korea to meet his comrades who have been away from the motherland for many years. Li Weibo said that he should do his duty for those comrades who died on the battlefield, pass on their spirit from generation to generation, and let more people know the great significance of the victory of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea and the hard-won peace.
△ On September 3rd, 2021, the burial ceremony of the remains of the eighth batch of Chinese people’s Volunteer Army martyrs in Korea was held in Shenyang Martyrs Cemetery to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. This is volunteer veteran Li Weibo waiting for his comrades to go home.
One of the military medals worn by Li Weibo is a special commemorative medal, which was awarded to the volunteers for "Long live peace" when the third "China People’s Consolation Mission to the DPRK" visited the DPRK.
The uniqueness of the "Long Live Peace" commemorative medallion lies in the fact that the whole chapter is designed as a dove of peace spreading its wings and flying, symbolizing China people’s desire for peace.
In 2020, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Chinese people’s Volunteer Army’s War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the State Council and the Central Military Commission presented the "70th anniversary of Chinese people’s Volunteer Army’s War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea" to the surviving veteran comrades of the Volunteers who participated in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea. The core part of the commemorative medallion is the image of volunteer soldiers and 70 beams of light, surrounded by doves of peace, water patterns and ribbons compiled by the national flags of China and North Korea, implying that the great War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea is a just war to defend peace and resist aggression, and demonstrating China’s firm determination and confidence in not being afraid of strong enemies, maintaining world peace and building a community of human destiny.
△ "Theme Exhibition to Commemorate the 70th Anniversary of Chinese people’s Volunteer Army’s War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea", the name of the heroic model to resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea is engraved on the red glass curtain wall.
On the battlefield to resist US aggression and aid Korea, the heroes said, "Behind us is the motherland. For the peace of the people of the motherland, we can’t take a step back!" This bloodiness makes the enemy feel frightened and makes the world move!
The blood is still there today, and the mountains and rivers are safe. We must bear in mind the wishes of the martyrs, never forget their great ideals of bloodshed and sacrifice, inherit and carry forward the great spirit of resisting US aggression and aiding Korea on the new journey, and make unremitting efforts to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
